Terms and
conditions

Version 1.0Effective 31 August 2026Updated 31 August 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by the BV(DU)COEP ACM Student Chapter, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “the organiser” mean the organising committee of the Global SDG + AI Hackathon 2026. Our postal address, email addresses and phone numbers are on the contact page.

2. What is being offered

We offer one thing on this website: registration of a student team for the Global SDG + AI Hackathon 2026, an academic competition organised by a university student chapter. The event runs as online screening + 2-day onsite grand finale on 25–27 September 2026, with the onsite days held at Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of Engineering, Pune. There is nothing else for sale here. The only payment we accept is the Rs. 100 registration fee a team pays for its own entry, and we sell no physical goods.

3. Eligibility

Registration is open to students of recognised colleges and universities, in teams of 2–4 students. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day they register; if a member is under 18, the team must contact us before registering so that guardian consent can be arranged. Each participant may belong to only one team. Full eligibility rules are in the participant rulebook, which forms part of these terms.

4. Fee and payment

The registration fee is Rs. 100 per team (one-time). It covers every member of the team, is charged once, and is not conditional on being shortlisted. The fee is stated in Indian Rupees and is the total amount payable; we add no separate handling, convenience or platform charge.

Payment is made by UPI transfer at the final step of the registration form, using the QR code or the UPI ID shown there. The transfer runs between your own bank or UPI app and the collection account; no card number, UPI PIN or banking credential is entered on this website or seen by us.

An application is accepted only once you attach a screenshot of your payment confirmation. That screenshot records what you paid; the organising committee reconciles it against the receiving account before selection. An entry whose payment cannot be traced may be held until it is resolved. If a transfer fails, no application is created and no fee is due.

5. Delivery of the service

This is a digital service and nothing is shipped. On successful payment the registration is recorded immediately and the team is shown a unique reference ID beginning SDGAI26-. Keep that reference: it identifies your application in every later communication. Screening outcomes, and the finalist list on 23 September 2026, are communicated by email to the team leader's registered address.

6. Registration window and changes to the programme

Registration closes on 20 September 2026, 11:59 PM IST. After that instant the form stops accepting applications. We may clarify rules, verify eligibility, adjust the programme for safety or logistics, or change the venue, schedule or format where circumstances require it. Material changes will be published on this site and communicated to affected participants. If we cancel the event entirely, the refund position is set out in our refund and cancellation policy.

7. Your obligations

You agree that the information you submit is accurate and that you are entitled to submit the details of every member you list. A team leader who enters other members' names, emails and phone numbers confirms they have those members' permission to do so. You agree not to submit another person's payment instrument without authority, not to register duplicate or fictitious teams, and to follow campus policies and the code of conduct in the rulebook while taking part.

8. Prizes

The confirmed prize pool is Rs. 15,000, awarded as Winner Rs. 8,000, 1st Runner-Up Rs. 5,000, 2nd Runner-Up Rs. 2,000. Prizes are paid by the organising chapter and awarded on the judged merit of submissions against the published rubric. Judges' decisions on the awards are final.

9. Intellectual property

Teams retain ownership of their original work. By participating you permit us to display project titles, summaries and event photographs for academic and promotional reporting. Third-party rights must be respected and all reused components, datasets, models and generated assets disclosed. The content of this website, including the Challenge Book briefs, remains the property of the organiser.

10. Limitation of liability

The event is provided on a best-efforts academic basis. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to any participant in connection with registration or participation is limited to the Rs. 100 fee that team paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for travel or accommodation costs a team incurs, or for interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Pune, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Before bringing any dispute, please contact us at brdevhare@bvucoep.edu.in so we can try to resolve it directly.

12. Precedence

If a summary on the homepage conflicts with these terms or with the rulebook, the latest published version of these terms and the rulebook applies. This version is 1.0, effective 31 August 2026.
